Lisa Herring is the owner of Manna From Heaven Cakes by Lisa.  She began baking as a child.  Her Snickerdoodle cookies won a blue ribbon in 4H at the Delaware County Fair when she was in the 4th grade.  She first started learning to decorate cakes when her mother would decorate and show her a few techniques.  Unfortunately, she did not stick with cake decorating, but continued to bake cookies for family and friends from time to time.  As a newlywed in 1994, she decided to take a cake decorating class and quickly got hooked!  Soon what started as a hobby became a passion and she began to dream of one day opening her own cake bakery.   While working as a chemical technician at Delco, she prayed about a name for her business and God gave her "Manna From Heaven Cakes by Lisa".  That was in 1995.  Now 13 years later, the vision God gave her has come to fruition.  After many obsticles over the years, she finally was blessed to open her first bakery at 425 West Defenbaugh.   She opened on August 1, 2007.  When looking back and seeing where God has brought her from and looking forward to where He is taking her, she can take no credit for what she has done.  She strongly believes that God gets all the glory and believes that, "This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes"! (Psalms 118:23)
